Accessibility Statement
Surfing Andaman is committed to making its website accessible to people with disabilities, in accordance with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law (1998) and the Israeli Accessibility Regulations for Service (2013), which require compliance with Israeli Standard 5568 (based on WCAG 2.0 Level AA).
Accessibility level
We are working toward full compliance with WCAG 2.0 Level AA. Measures already implemented on this site include:
- Skip-to-main-content link at the top of every page
- Semantic HTML landmarks (
<main>,<nav>,<footer>,<header>) - Full keyboard navigation support across all interactive elements
- Visible focus indicators on all focusable elements
- Alternative text on all informative images
- Decorative images and background videos marked
aria-hidden - Form fields with associated
<label>elements - ARIA roles and live regions on dynamic content (carousels, sliders)
- Pause control on all auto-advancing carousels
- Language attribute set correctly on each page (
lang="en") - Text colour contrast meeting WCAG AA ratios
- Responsive design that works at 200% zoom
- Support for
prefers-reduced-motion— all animations disabled when requested
Known limitations
We are aware of the following areas that may not yet meet full AA compliance and are actively working to address them:
- Some third-party embedded content (social media) may not be fully accessible
- Older blog posts may contain images without complete alt text
